This is a tattoo design intended for the shape of an arm, Japanese in style, color pencil on paper.
This is a composition I have in mind for a future painting. I will likely add cropped parts of ladders in the foreground to add more depth. I might make all of the ladders green as well....not sure yet.... I think it is difficult to be an artist and NOT be affected by war. I feel that I have an obligation to narrate this topic in my work because it is so compelling on so many different levels (despite how simple one might think it to be). Color pencil and chalk pastel on paper.
Experimenting with textures in the program Painter 11. This is a magnificent program if you are someone who has an affinity towards traditional media.
Colored pencil on black paper of an old frightened woman.
These are some exploratory form sketches. These are great to do when trying to achieve a new look for an object that you are designing. I start off with fast loose scribbles, and then begin investigating and recognizing areas of volume. Black prisma color pencil on vellum trace paper.
A drawing of a redwood inspired tree I did after reading this book: http://www.mdvaden.com/redwood_book.shtml I laughed after having realized where I drew the tent. No one in their right mind would camp under a widow-maker such as this.

A compositional study for a painting. Colors will be on the more colorful side to contrast the macabre subject matter. Ball point pen on notebook paper
Drawing of a spider amidst a fractal pattern. I decided to not complete the background and I think the drawing has an over all better composition and energy because of that decision. Pen/ink on paper/[
This is a T-shirt design I did. There are four animals attacking each other: lion, snake, vulture and alligator. Its deliberately organized into a symmetrical design. Pen/ink on paper.
A T shirt design I did of a samarai sun and a boat riding violent waves. Pen/ink on paper followed by a Live Trace variant in CS Illustrator to establish crisper edges.
Jesus playing football....Enough said :) pen/ink on paper.
I love movement and tangled forms. I made this tough on myself by using pen only. This really forced me to concentrate and think about overlap and direction. Pen/ink on paper.
